This week everyone should be getting their mail out package for the 2020 Charleston Landing HOA meeting. Please read through the resume’s of the candidates running for the board and vote for your choices on the enclosed proxy’s. We have asked for them to be returned to the management company by August 7th indicating whether or not you will attend. This is to give us the opportunity to plan the meeting for social distancing providing we are able to hold the meeting. It will also help us to establish a quorum of 51% of the total property owners which is required for us to hold an election and business meeting. Any owners who own multiple lots should receive a proxy for each lot owned. The proxy’s need to be returned by August 7th even if you plan on attending. Should we have to cancel the meeting and have a quorum of proxy’s the votes will be tallied by a third party attorney and the results will be published. The new board will take over immediately following the meeting.
Due to the rise in positive cases of the covid-19 in Horry county and North Myrtle Beach the governor and local authorities have extended the state of emergency mandate. Therefore your Board of directors have elected to keep our pool, basketball court and playground closed due to not having the ability to meet the requirements from DHEC. Even though these facilities are closed we must maintain them year round.
Weather permitting we have contracted to have the marsh underbrush removed behind the pool and amenity center. This is to start on July 2nd and it should open up our view to Cherry Grove as it used to look. Our contractor is well versed in DHEC regulations as to what and how can be cut.
